We have had deer in the garden before, though as it seems rather unlikely people have been surprised when it has been mentioned. Recently the deer in the video above has been a repeat visitor. Maybe it appreciates the vegetable patch in our neighbour's garden.
Now, I don't live in the middle of a forest, as you can see from the map below. The house is roughly where the blue dot is.

We've got a family of three that come through the garden from time to time, but since we got the dog they seem to drop by less. Good thing too as they were destroying the garden! I do live in a more rural area than you though so its pretty goo going that they are managing to make it work in a built up area.
